Line 2 is An Empty Ballot Position

Attention Englewood Voters:

This is a reminder that Debra Richardson-Zarate (Line 2) is not running for the School Board. Her name is on the ballot but she is NOT running.
Skip down to #'s 3 - 4 -5

She is supporting Devry Pazant Jeff Carter Carol Feinstein. Lines 3 - 4 - 5.

Get out and vote. All is not well in Public Education in Englewood.

All is not well when all 9 members of our school board belong to a secret organization that does not answer to or include the entire community.

All is NOT well. Bottom line, the good old boy's private club is not good for our children. Test scores are among the lowest in the County.

Both the Middle School and the High School have had 7 principals in the last 9 nine years. Math and Literacy scores are among the lowest in the county.

You be the judge. Is that a great 9 year track record or just plain old blind trust on our part?

Life In Engleworld: Who is the REAL Poster Child for Greed?

"Dr. Carlisle agreed to a salary of $200k/yr, which was $50k less than his current salary in Port Chester. He had already completed his New York pension eligibility. It should be noted that his salary was $20k less than the salary due the current Superintendent." Eugene Skurnick  (Elected to the Englewood City Council since this article was published.)

That is eternally funny. Dr. Carlisle may have agreed to $200k/yr, but did anyone in the district have the authority to pay him above the state mandated CAP on Superintendent salary? Is this another example of how Engleworld is Above the Law? He is now being paid $64,500 above CAP which is $167, 500. That is enough to pay the yearly salary of 4 of the paraprofessionals needed to educate the Special Needs Children in the Englewood Public School District.

How many faces do you have Mr. Skurnick? Which one are you showing the residents in the 3rd Ward when you make statements like the ones in that article? It does not benefit the residents in the 3rd and 4th wards when there are tax cuts for the rich. Our fees actually go up to cover the flat taxes. There is no advantage or savings for us when the rich get lower taxes or when the developers get tax abatements. How dare you equate the Salary of the Superintendent to the salary of a fireman or policeman

The Six Million dollar question is still the same. How does our very colorful Governor allow

WHAT IS THE REST OF NJ DOING IN RESPONSE TO THE NEW LAW?
WHAT ARE OUR NEIGHBORS DOING?

Let us make an extreme comparison.

Carlisle's Contract:  Carlisle started with $208,000 salary. His contract was signed December 21, 2010.  Examine the Contract. Only the then President and Carlisle himself signed the contract. There was no witness and no Board Attorney signature.  What happened in Englewood exhibits far more arrogance than in Parsippany. At least Dr. Seitz was already on salary and seems to have been doing a fine job. What did Dr. Leroy Seitz do to the big Guy? Is it because this is his home County or is the big guy playing favorites?

Parsippany (at the time of the video below)
Students: 7,250  (at the time of the video)  (2012 - 6,120)
Superintendent: $212,000  (Dr. Leroy Seitz resigned 2/13/13) (new Supt salary: $177,500)

Parsippany - He was dubbed the "Poster Child of Greed".  He was already on staff and became the example and the Governor's target when the CAP was mandated.

Princeton:  Princeton Superintendent Judith Wilson to retire rather than take $52K pay cut under salary CAP.

This is for Englewood FAST. Fiscal Accountability started March of 2006. If your main concern was really about Fiscal Accountability, we would be on the same page. Make a note of it.

3, 4 and 5! All Children Must Thrive!

"This modest proposal by the Board of Education has generated a firestorm of protests from special interests groups, intent on protecting the privileges of the few without any regards for the real needs of Englewood students. Using intimidation tactics, these special interest groups went as far as suggesting that the school budget deficit had been manufactured, showing once again their total lack of understanding of basic economics. Englewood real-estate taxes already exceed by nearly 100% the national average, as percentage of home values. Home values have gone down by 10 to 30% and the Englewood taxpayer can no longer be squeezed for additional dollars."
Englewood FAST article: July 16, 2012

Englewood Parents with children in the school district, a special interest group called Englewood FAST is calling you a special interest group, because you care about your kids. They are very confident that their lobbying of the NJ Legislature and the Senate will get the bill passed that will allow their Special Needs children to attend the Yeshivas. That way their children will no longer be exposed to Delta T or Mission One. So who, pray tell is the real "Special Interest Group" in this scenario.

Sigmund Freud's name for what they are doing is called "Projection".  They are the few with protected privileges.
Make a Note of it.

Okay. Guilty as charged. I am part of a "special interest group" that is composed of angry Mother's, Father's and Grandma's who have children in the Englewood Public Schools. We want a THOROUGH and EFFICIENT EDUCATION for all children. We are a group of people who know the definition of "Regressive Taxation" and those of you who don't should google it.
A regressive tax can be defined as a tax that tends to increase the total percentage of income paid on those who must pay the tax. In contrast, those who have a higher income pay less of their total income on items taxed. A tax can also be considered regressive when poorer folks must purchase more of the items taxed than do richer folks.

(I am a homeowner, who is much poorer than the homeowners on the hill. I am not whining over high taxes. I am angry over more than 9 years of failure to do right by all of the children. My taxes go up right along with theirs, but my grandchildren cannot afford to use the municipal pool, the skating rink and cannot afford the recreation programs. I am thankful that they are good students and don't need Summer School, yet. They would not be able to afford that either.)

All children must thrive!

Read Englewood FAST. Learn about the people who want to privatize everything including the police, fireman and teachers. You better watch out. They want some different residents and children down here in the Valley. Are we next? http://www.dontbankruptus.com/efast/?page_id=24

We Have Tried Trust For the Last 9 Years!

Did you know that while property taxes were kept low, our fees for the pool, recreation programs and summer school went up?

The Price of the pool, recreation programs and summer school ARE NOW much too expensive for our children TO PARTICIPATE.

Who benefited from the tax break? Did you? I would prefer successful students who do well on tests TO A FAKE PROPERTY TAX BREAK.

I prefer seasoned and dedicated secretaries and paraprofessionals at work instead of collecting unemployment.

The unemployment is costing the district millions, while the 2 outsource companies collect a million each and the "independent contractors" work without adequate training or criminal background and history checks.

I want to see the same smile on my child's face when he/she arrives home that he/she left with in the morning.

I prefer a strong Child Study Team with qualified student support.

I prefer happy children who FEEL SAFE AND are NOT afraid of BULLYING at school.

I prefer teachers who are not afraid of bullying at school.

I prefer a PARENT/GUARDIAN FRIENDLY SCHOOL POLICY.

I prefer Administrators who are good leaders and are allowed to run the district without fear of reprisal from the Superintendent or the Board of Education.

Trust?: I prefer accountability and truth... WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TRUST FOR 9 YEARS...THAT IS NOT WORKING IN OUR FAVOR!

I prefer HIGH ACADEMIC STANDARDS FOR ALL STUDENTS!

I PREFER A CHANGE IN THE GOOD OLE BOYS NETWORK!

I PREFER A BOARD THAT PUTS THE INTEREST OF THE PARENTS WITH CHILDREN IN THE SCHOOL DISTRICT ABOVE THOSE WHO DO NOT USE THE DISTRICT BUT STILL BENEFIT FROM OUR TAX DOLLARS.

MAKE A NOTE OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!
